Drawing on decades of international experience, extensive knowledge and a discerning eye, Samantha McCoy created Argo, an ephemeral gallery with roots in New York and Paris. The gallery champions artists and cultivates meaningful connections with collectors and institutions through curated exhibitions worldwide. Argo will debut at Art Paris in April 2026, held at the Grand Palais, highlighting Christiane Löhr and featuring works by Richard Learoyd, Charles Pollock, Jackson Pollock and Cy Twombly.
The name Argo draws inspiration from the legendary vessel on which Jason and his companions embarked in pursuit of the Golden Fleece in Greek mythology. It resonates personally: Samantha’s father, Jason, directed his eponymous gallery in New York for over three decades, and she descends from a family of artists that includes Jackson and Charles Pollock. The name further evokes Argus Panoptes, the all-seeing, many-eyed giant of Greek myth.
The letters of the mark are taken from Charles Pollock’s 1949 calligraphy.
